Sketches grouped by the light they were written in — morning kopitiam steam, afternoon connector shade, desk lamps after the LRT stops.

The folio is not exhaustive. I leave drafts in notebooks when they still belong there. What appears here has survived at least one night of second thoughts and one morning of clearer punctuation. Dates reflect publication, not always the day an event occurred — except Chin Swee, which stays pinned to 12 November 2025 because the calendar and my memory agree.

If you arrived from a search engine looking for news, start with the pinned note linked below. Everything else is deliberately small-scale — neighbourhood weather, habits, commutes. That is the contract this site keeps.

I group by light rather than by month because Singapore hours feel more honest than calendar boxes. Morning light here means kopitiam steam and school uniforms on the connector. Afternoon shade means LRT platforms and river walks when the sun hides behind cloud. After dark means desk lamps and notes I still hesitate to publish. The groupings are imperfect — some sketches were drafted at night and revised at breakfast — but they help me see patterns.

The folio will grow slowly. I archive only when a piece feels finished enough to leave alone. Drafts that still itch stay in the notebook. If you prefer reading in chronological order, use the dates beside each title. If you prefer mood, follow the headings.
